About 23 years ago … I was given a refurbished Compaq 486. Its spec was weak, even adjusting for that time. It did not run any contemporary games. However, it was capable of running a compiler. At the time I did not know what I wanted to build, but I knew I wanted to build something.
A few months later, I was given a copy of the C programming language book… and from that point, I never left the field. My passion for software engineering only grew with time, and I can confidently say that I approach the field today with the same curiosity as I did 23 years ago.
